Factors Influencing the Success of Surgical Management of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Different Cases Scenario

Abstract

-Title: Factors Influencing the success of surgical Management of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: different cases scenario

-Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a prevalent malignancy that significantly affects global health. Its surgical management is complex and multifactorial, influenced by a variety of determinants including biological characteristics of the tumor, patient systemic health, status, and proper treatment planning and surgical maneuvers.

-Objective: This presentation aims to explain the factors impacting the surgical management strategies for OSCC.

-Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted, analyzing recent research findings and clinical guidelines on OSCC management. Key factors were identified and categorized into (biological, clinical) tumor related factors, operator related factors. Each category was examined to understand its direct and indirect effects on treatment outcomes and patient quality of life.

-Results: Preliminary findings indicate that tumor staging, histological features, comprehensive treatment planning and meticulous surgical procedures play crucial roles in obtaining proper results and low patient comorbidities

-Discussion: The complexity of OSCC management necessitates a multidisciplinary approach that considers the diverse array of influencing factors. Strategies to optimize patient outcomes should not only focus on clinical treatment but also integrate supportive services that address psychological and socioeconomic barriers.

-Conclusion: A proper understanding of the various factors impacting the management of OSCC is essential for improving treatment paradigms and patient outcomes. Continued research and collaborative efforts among healthcare providers, policymakers, and communities are critical to addressing these challenges on a global scale.
