Mona Ghoneim (BDS, MSc, PhD); is currently Professor & Chairman of Dept. of Restorative Dentistry Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, Egypt. She is also a visiting Professor in the Operative & Esthetic Dentistry Department: Beirut Arab University, Lebanon since 2007 till now. Professor Ghoneim is also the Director of the Esthetics & Restorative Dentistry Certificate Program, Alexandria University. She is also The Director & Establisher of the Unit of Special Nature for Restorative Specialized Treatment in the Faculty of Dentistry Alexandria University. She graduated from from Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University Top of the Class: Excellent Degree with Honor along with 8 university awards. She obtained a Clinical Residency in Prosthodontics from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry; USA in 1997. Prof Ghoneim then obtained a Master’s degree in Operative dentistry, Endodontics & Fixed Prosthodontics; Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University and a PhD degree, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, Egypt / School of Dentistry, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA in 2006. Professor Ghoneim was also a Visiting Scholar at Restorative Sciences Department, School of Dentistry, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. (2003-2005). She was also a Research resident, Egyptian National Research Committee of Studying the Egyptian Mummies. Higher Supreme Council of Antiquities, Egypt. She is also the Alexandria University Representative in the University Educators Forum in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as well as a Sustaining member of the AACD ; IADR (International Academy of Dental Research); AADR (American Academy of Dental Research) USA. Moreover, she was selected by the University Relations Committee of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry; AACD as a Judge for the Postgraduate students Poster Competition from universities inside & outside the United States of America 2 consecutive years (2017-2018). Shies was also a Scientific Committee member Africa Health ExCon 2023. Prof. Ghoneim conducted the first workshops in Egypt “Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry” at the at the EGY-Health 2021 & “Towards Robotics & Artificial Intelligence: Targeting Oral Health Care in Africa in the Digital Age”, Africa Health ExCon, June 2022. Dr Ghoneim also conduced a series of IADR webinars “ Robotics & Artificial Intelligence: Targeting Oral Health Care in Africa in the Digital Age” Jan 9-10th, 2023 & IADR Nigerian Division 20th Scientific Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry November 2023. She also was Vice President of Al Manama Health Congress where she conducted 3 days of Artificial
Intelligence: New Horizons & Beyond live presentations, Bahrain December; 2022. & a Panel member of the Bahrian Entrepreneur Organization. Additionally, Prof Ghoneim organized the Africa HealthExCon Oral Health Congress June 7-10,2023. Moreover, she was the Head of the scientific & workshops at the Alexandria International Dental Congress 2022 and is currently the head of the scientific committee of the AIDC 2024. Additionally, she is an International lecturer on Adhesive dentistry & Esthetic restorations and is a speaker for British Academy of implant & Restorative Dentistry , BAIRD , QC8H Leeds, UK; and for the Comprehensive Dental Implant Certificate Program and the Clinical Master of Oral Implantology Program, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University. She is also Editor-in-chief of
the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Alexandria official book. 2009 She is also a Key Opinion Leader for many international Dental companies.”
